First ever Students Representative Council (SRC) Inaugurated

History was made on 22nd May, 2015 when Lancaster University Ghana’s student body elected their first ever Student Representative Council (SRC). The eight executives were elected to serve on the SRC for the 2015/16 academic year.

The new student leadership was inaugurated into office on 9th October, 2015   and as part of the inauguration all the new leaders had to pledge to uphold the constitution and conduct their term of office with integrity, transparency and dedication. 
 

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. John Grainger (Provost, Lancaster University Ghana). 

He said “I would like to emphasis the fact that you have been selected to serve on account of your proven integrity, unwavering patriotism and a sense of duty.” He charged them to bring those attributes to bear on the discharge of their duties and responsibilities.
 

During the inauguration ceremony the newly elected SRC President, John Ennin, in his acceptance speech, committed himself to serve as a dynamic and inspirational leader and added that he –together with his leadership structure, will make every effort needed to vest a student culture that not only reflects the values of the University but also addresses the unique needs and challenges faced by the student community of LUG.
 

The newly elected SRC structure includes the following student leaders:
