Important Information for LUG Final Year LLB Students & Alumni

Dear Final Year Law Students and LUG Law Alumni,

Congratulations on completing your LUG Ghana LLB degree! We are aware that many of you will be applying for professional law courses in a variety of institutions in Ghana and elsewhere for the 2021/22 academic year. The processes and timelines for applications differ from institution to institution but they all require LU Ghana and/or Lancaster UK to provide documentation and information, which can sometimes be complex and time consuming.

In order to facilitate the process and avoid unnecessary delays in providing the required information and documentation we are writing to inform you of the processes and deadlines that you will need to know and meet in order for Lancaster/Lancaster Ghana to provide documentation in support of you application. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE DEADLINES WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUPPORT YOUR APPLICATION FOR THE 2021/22 ACADEMIC YEAR.

1. ALL APPLICANTS

We would be grateful if you would complete the attached form and return it to the Registry via email ([email protected]) if you are applying to a professional law programme for the 2021/22 academic year.  This information will enable us determine the number of students and alumni for whom we need to provide documentation and work out a timeline to expedite the process. The form needs to be returned to LUG Registry by 5pm GMT on Monday July 5^th 2021. Please note that in returning the form, you need to use the subject line “Law School Information Form”.

2. GHANA SCHOOL OF LAW (GSoL) APPLICANTS

We are also aware that some of you may want help with preparing for the GSoL entrance examination which will be held on 24^th August 2021. We are planning on holding revision classes on the LUG campus for students who would like some help with the GSoL entrance exam and an indication of numbers would help us plan design and delivery of the classes.

Please indicate on the attached form whether or not you wish to attend GSoL entrance exam classes that will be held on the LU Ghana campus and return form to the Registry via email ([email protected]) by 5pm GMT on Monday July 5^th 2021.

3. NIGERIA LAW SCHOOL (NLS) APPLICANTS

We have been informed that the deadline for the submission of references letters, certificates and transcripts directly from Universities to the NLS is 26^th July 2021.

In the light of this information, if you intend to apply for the Bar Part I course at the NLS you will need to complete Part A of Form B and send the form to Registry ([email protected]) by 5pm GMT on Friday 9^th July 2021.

NOTE: The deadlines above are strict deadlines and will be adhered to. If we do not receive the required information by the deadlines stated above, we will not be able to support your application to any professional law course for the 2021/22 academic year.
