Lancaster University Ghana’s (LUG) first Executive MBA Masterclass for 2016 took place on 29th January, 2016 in the Executive MBA suite of the A&C campus.

The masterclass themed “The Financial Manger” was organized to give a more practical insight into the module (Financial and Management Accounting) that was thought during the Executive MBA class.
 
“The Financial Manager” was delivered by Irene Ackuaku (Chief Financial Officer, Ecobank Development Corporation Group). She focused on the efficient and effective management of funds in such a manner as to accomplish the objectives set by an individual or organization. 
 
“It is very important where we place ourselves financially. You need to reflect on your mission, vision, goals and objectives and by doing that you can prioritize your needs – make a list separating your basic needs from your wants” she advised.
 
Chief Finance Officer, EDC Group Irene Ackuaku leads the EDC Finance Team with over twenty years’ experience in banking and finance with an established record of success in significantly growing business value. She served as the WAMZ cluster tax advisor for one year in Ecobank Ghana before taking her current role. Irene worked as the Chief Finance Officer of the then The Trust Bank, a role she occupied at the beginning of the year 2011. Before then she was the Head of Finance and Control Department of the same Bank for over 10 years. She now oversees the Finance Team across the regions within the EDC Group and together their focus to provide quality assurance and quality control to drive and sustain profitability across the platform. She is a Chartered Accountant by profession and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants-Ghana. She also holds an Executive MBA post graduate degree in Money & Banking from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Ghana.
