Bernard Okpattah


Bernard joined LUG in 2014 as a lecturer on the Foundation Programme – Computing Science stream. Prior to this, he served in several professional capacities in industry, eventually exiting as Acting Head of ICT at Accra Polytechnic to pursue an academic career. He has since held academic positions at WestEnd University College (affiliated to UCC), Bluecrest College (affiliated to UEW) and Central University, Ghana. Bernard obtained a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the Open University Malaysia at Accra Institute of Technology and a BSc. Computer Engineering degree from KNUST in Ghana. He received the Dr. K. Boakye Award for Best Master’s Research in Computing Science for his thesis and overall, his research seeks to improve the role of information systems (IS) in organisations and society. His current works explore the relevance of strategy in pursuing the IS agenda in emerging markets and Africa’s participation in the knowledge economy.
