Gifty Abban is a faculty member of the Business Department of Lancaster University Ghana with an extensive quantitative and finance background. She holds a first degree in Banking and Finance and a second degree in Finance, both from the University of Ghana Business School.
She also holds a Distinctive graduate degree in International Business from Lancaster University, UK. She currently lectures in Accounting, Finance and Economics at LUG. In addition to Administrative experience from working with the Civilian establishment Unit of the Ministry of Defence, Ghana, she has also acted as a board member of a Microfinance company in Ghana.
She has obtained a number of academic laurels towards research which includes the Volkswagen Stiftung Fellow grants, the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship Awards and best paper award on the International Business programme in Lancaster, UK. With these, she has done extensive studies on financial markets and corporate governance of banks and listed firms in Ghana and with her varied experience in industry and academia, she is interested in industry relevant research and enjoys new challenges which aim at building an excellent corporate profile. She is a co-patron of the Business Society of Lancaster University Ghana.
