Life Squad Organises Blood Donation Drive

As part of the Project Management module which is compulsory for all our Foundation students, they are put into groups and tasked to undertake various projects on and off campus. This month, a group of students organised a 2 day Blood Donation Drive on 7th and 8th March, 2019 at the A&C Center.

While some of the past projects include a donation to Nsawam Prison’s female facility, Health and Hygiene lectures at various primary schools and the building of a playground donated to the Potters’ Village Orphanage, Team Life Squad decided to embark on a campaign to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood.

These students partnered with the National Blood Bank at Korle Bu, and created awareness through conversations on campus, as well as online through social media. On 7th and 8th March, representatives from the National Blood Bank were present to facilitate the donation exercise, and LUG students, staff and the general public showed up to donate blood.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to donate blood! Check out the Life Squad Instagram page for more pictures and videos from the drive.
